I just came across a room with 3 of those green lily pod thingees. I'm getting slaughtered! I beat one earlier when I melee'd it to death. This is not going to work for 3 of them. How did you beat these things? Thanks!

i had trouble until mywarlock got FIRESTORM and then they were no trouble at all. Thank god for saved games and the Jathil quest bug, or a wouldn't have been able to level up and get the spell. Those things are nasty!
