So what are you doing up at this hour? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Cloudbringer 05-26-2001 04:24 AM

Um, er, being bad. I stayed up all night..er on 4hrs sleep from the previous night...sigh... That happens now and again. I get overtired to the point of being awake but exhausted. I will crash soon an get about 4hrs sleep then muff my way through the day and hopefully nap in the evening...but not sure!

And I was posting here/dealing with email..trying to keep things on an even keel. I really hate flamewars and strife...sigh... well, enough on that!

So, what are YOU doing at this hour? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Replying to you. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Actually, I went to bed around 7:00PM woke up at 1:30AM and couldn't go back to sleep. I played BGII for a while (trying to solo a Sorcerer). I have started that game 5 times and haven't finished yet (I got a little board with the full party so I'm trying solo). Currently, I have two games going a full party and a solo Sorcerer.

Flamewars? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif I think I know what your talking about but I reality I don't want to. I'ld prefer to distance myself from anything of that nature. I have enough conflict in my job for my taste. Every now and again I have to come down hard on someone who is not handling our investments properly. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no.../angryfire.gif

I'm sure you've posted this before but why did you choose the name Cloudbringer? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/ponder.gif

Well, Cloudbringer was dreamed up because I wanted to post on the old forum. I needed to register and was trying to come up with an interesting name. I think I started with the idea of a storm but wanted something less ominous, more 'elf like'..friendlier... so I came up with Cloudbringer.

Shortly after posting I ran into Memnoch who told me about the Simbul(6th of the 7 Chosen Sisters) and he gifted me with another of her names, Storm Queen. So I use both regularly. The rest of the names snowballed after that! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif I started collecting them. Cloudy came from Yorick. As it is nice and short it caught on and is my frequent sig these days.

CloudofaThousandNames, going to bed now http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Good question.

Onthepequod is a referrence to Herman Melville's Moby Dick. The ship was captianed by Ahab and sailed on by Ishmael (i.e. "Call me Ishmael"). Ultimately the ship sunk in the Indian Ocean and all perished except Ishmael. Therefore to be on the pequod would insinuate that you sank with the ship (unless of course you were Ishmael).

In my current job I have been given stock options in three different option grants. However, as a commodity goes toilet paper is more valuable and more useful than my stock options are (for the time being), since my options are nowhere near the money. In a bleak and disparaging moment I chose onthepequod (for a stock forum) as a reflection on the marketability of my options (i.e. sinking fast). Yeah, they sunk quickly and painfully. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/crying.gif

As opposed to picking a different username, I have kept this one to avoid any future confusion. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
