This is the third time I've played BGII now, but the first time this has happened. Since Robert the Bard says there are no stupid questions, and being new I've spent a couple hours reading archives to see if this was addressed, and it wasn't that I could see, I'll proceed...

When I go into Cayia's house to get the horn, and yes, it's night, it's not there! Nothing I can do will make it show up anywhere. It would seem my only remedy (other than ShadowKeeper or some other hack) is to take the portal off the island and miss the Sahuagin adventure.

Anyone else have this happen? Anyone know a fix? And yes, I do have the patch installed.

When you entered Cayia's house, is she in the room too?

turbovee 02-17-2001 07:44 PM

Are you getting the dialogue between Cayia and her lover? They should be in the room when you go to recover the horn.

turbovee 02-17-2001 07:46 PM

Always one step ahead Accord. LOL

Since both Accord and turbovee asked the same question simultaneously, I'm replying here rather than email.

No. They aren't. That's the weird part. I can't find them anywhere and the house is deserted.

Turbovee,

Try to be there after mid-night, they will usually be there after that time.

turbovee 02-17-2001 07:50 PM

You've played the game before so you know the proper sequence of events. My only guess is: Did you kill anyone you think you weren't supposed too?

Accord 02-17-2001 07:53 PM

Alright, if nothing shows, you can do the following:
1) Cheat, use the CreateItem code misc9g (this is the pirate horn)
2) Cheat (surprise, surprise), use ShadowKeeper to import the item
3) Go through the portal and lose some experience

ARGH!!!! DOUBLE POSTED!!!!

Quivering_Palm 02-17-2001 07:55 PM

Again, for the benefit of all...

No, I was very careful not to kill anyone necessary (besides, I well written game should always take that kind of possibility into account and provide an alternative). However, it is possible that it's not midnight yet and if I just stand around for an hour and listen to my party complain about how we should be making better use of our time for a while that they'll show up. I'll try that and let you know what happens. Thanks guys! I've never been on a board and gotten help in real time before!
