Sig, like I said in Ziroc's thread, you're one of the good guys and I don't think anyone holds it against you, nor should they

I wasn't offended. I actually found it to be very thought-provoking in that it showed yet another perspective, another piece to this puzzle we call humanity.
There will always be conflicting opinions on the subject, but I do agree with Ziroc that today is not the day o be posting them.

We know you meant no offense, no harm.
*hugs*

Glad Ironworks is coming together, this day of all days. Sigmar, as I said on Ziroc's thread, I was not offended by you, just the jerk in the site. Wow, so many people that never post in here. Good to see you again, Moni. Melusine, I haven't seen you in here in a looong time.

Well, I was so busy at work I couldn't get back to see how things were going. I don't know what the fuss was about, but I AM pleased it seems to be over with now.

Just watched a solid hour of local news (mixed with info on national ceremonies) and we have had some very nice commemorative ceremonies here. Lots of churches, city govertnement and colleges sponsored readings of names of victims of 9-11 from our area, bagpipe and other solemn processions and some very dignified presentations. I'm pleased to see that. The one thing that did annoy me a little was the number of people who seemed to just be talking for the sake of getting on the news, a few made no sense at all, but most were very respectful and dignified.

Hey everyone. Just finished some re-reading of C&P

Well, at school today, we held a ceremony at the beginning of lunch, consisting of the National Anthem sung by one of our choir girls, a speech and a prayer by a fire fighter who was at ground 0, and a song on guitar by one of our graduates. It was so sad i almost cried...almost.

How is everyone this day? I hope we're doing well

HI, Jen, you beat me, I have cried several times, today. I get sad whenever I read about the acts of heroism and of the kids that will never see their moms or dads again.

As I was out and about today, I could feel a different mood in the air from everyone--everyone seemed nicer, more sensitive. I was pleasantly surprised, I must admit.

I can see that today, now to be known as Patriot Day, will become the second-most important American holiday, just behind 4 July.

Whenever I think of the WTC attack, I always think of what happened in OK City, as well, since both were terrorist attacks on American soil. I used to wonder why 9/11 seems to be more important than 4/19, but now I have it figured out. No one saw 4/19 happen on live TV--this puts up a sort of "emotional wall" that lessens the impact. Not that either event is somehow of lesser importance, mind you. Both events should be honored and remembered, to make sure that no one ever forgets that Freedom is always under attack, no matter where in the world you find yourself.
I don't often say things like that, but today is not a normal day. I know I said ealier to treat it as if it were, but that doesn't change the fact that it isn't.

*sigh* I apologize for rambling; I do that from time to time.

---------------
As if we didn't need reminders.... In Baltimore, several "Middle-Eastern" men were apprehended, apparently with fake IDs and pictures of places like Times Square in their possession. Also, a flight from Houston to Dallas had to be escorted back to the ground after what someone thought was a folding knife (it was a comb). *sigh*
Sometimes I hate it, but that is how the world is....

Azred, that's awful. Has the ACLU filed the racial-profiling lawsuit, yet? Those people.
