anyone know the purpose of the rod of wonder?.. (or is it wand? )

I am trying to decide if I should sell it... as far as I can tell it does not do anything... (could be wrong though)

It has a random effect including but probably not exclusively:
Stinking Cloud
Web
Flesh to Stone
Haste
Strength Augmentation

Since Flesh to stone is quite common, it is a very useful wand.

I suggest not using it in the middle of a tough battle unless your the gambling type - but try saving, and then initiating combat with it (if you haste the damned creatures or worse then just reload).
