Am going to solo the game using the gnome fighter/illusionist. Motivation? I haven't seen anybody else do it, and I saw a great picture of one .

But I am a little perplexed about what weapons are best to take proficiency in for a soloist, and which spells. But most of all, which quests to do first. There are so many.

My stats : Strength 18/20
Dexterity 10
Constitution 18
Intelligence 19 (Gnomeish Bonus)
Wisdom 15
Chraisma 10

Alignment: either lawful neutral or true neutral

I figure I can increase my charisma with a spell if needed. Do you thin it is feasible to solo the game with this character? Comments + suggestions welcome!

Definitely feasible, and once you start gaining the ToB special abilities, deadly as well. I will look at the melee side.

Stoneskin, have this on at all times.
Blur, helps with your AC.
Mirror Image, helps make your Stoneskin last longer.
Improved Haste, double your attacks per round.
Tensor's Transformation, boosts your Fighter skills and doubles your Hp.

Just some examples, feel free to experiment with other spells.

Because you have a low Dexterity, you should use the bracers of dexterity(braces who set your dex on 18)
And Specialice katana's would be good, because you can use drakons zet blade, wich gives you one extra spell from 1 to 4

Maybe would the fire shield blue/red be handy, because it also inflicts damage to your oponents.

Actually, once he gets Time Stop and Greater Whirlwind, his AC would become almost a non-issue.

Cackles at the thought of a speedy Gnome whirlwinding people's kneecaps.

Chuckles............

Thanks, I think I'm going to do my stronghold quest first, then just do quests as they get delivered to me........ Is there a limit as to how many spells "fit" in your spellbook?

If the game ever tells you that you have reached the limit on the number of spells that you can memorise, just drink a Potion of Genius, or a Potion of Mind Focusing and boost your INT to 19+.

with a 19 int you can learn any and all spells in the game (except necromancy spells, which are barred by the illusionist specialty)

Sounds like an interesting character to solo with good luck!!! Gnomes rule all!!!

Would Tenser's benefit a multi class mage? It may actually make his THAC0 worse as his fighter level would be greater than his mage level.

Im not sure Id like to play a game as a mage without some of my favourite spells. Skull Trap, Animate Dead, Death Spell, Finger of Death and of course Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting. Only plus side is keeping the specialist extra spell per level while playing as a multi.
