http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/roboto/tree_snake.jpg</p> I caught this snake today whilst I was walking home from a hard days work. It has very nice colors and emitted 2 different substances of defense during our battle, but I prevailed in the end. Above I have shown you my treasured catch of the day although I am not familiar with this species. Can anyone here identify this tree snake?
(It didn’t like the smell of coffee grounds either  ) ...Anyone? |
can you get a pic of its tail?
it would also help to know where you found it, in the grass, on rocks, places like that [ 10-07-2003, 08:48 PM: Message edited by: Stormymystic ] |
I found it along a semi-rocky path via the sunny side of a hill. The tail is very nimble and pointy, very small head also. I wouldn't be so eager to call it a tree snake but these are the features I would think one would have. Many good trees to climb near by and then again mybe it burrows into the hillside, I really don't know.
11" max in lenth and it tied itself into a knot at first, very cool |
hmmm, can you tell me what the underbelly looks like
|
Silvery white- I let it go so I can't double check. Fast crawler to say the least.
|
my guess would be it is a king snake, but not positive, I can not really tell

That it could be but mybe from this years hatchlings. So small. Well, IW has some great animal lovers out there and something might turn up.
Its not a garden snake thats for sure. Having been bitten, I mean caught off guard by some - it's not one of those. ;) Bull snake, Black snake, or water snake either.. |
So, what are you going to do with this wild animal now that you have taken it upon yourself to invade it's territory and imprison it?

Did you reach out your hand to see if it is poisonous ? :D
