Minerals - keep or sell?
 

I've just finished the Joining & am at the Quartermaster's selling excess loot. What use are the topaz, quartz etc I've picked up along the way? For that matter, can I sell the wolf pelts?

AFAIK you can just sell the gems (and the pelts). If gems have a use in Crafting, I haven't found it yet, but I'm not real high up the potion/poison ladder.

Some of the gems will be used later on in a repeatable quest to "upgrade" your troops after you ally with the dwarves. I don't remember off hand which ones it is so you might want to hang on to them or search on the net.

They also mention that 10 garnets will be used in a quest, so I'm saving them.

From what I can tell, things like rings w/o properties and engraved bowls, jewelry are also just for selling (unless it's labeled as a gift). Same with private documents and blank vellum.

Anyone know of other items that don't have a use other than converting to $?
