I want to kill Kangaxx the Lich before killing Irenicus, but when I kill Kangaxx the first time, he becomes a Demi-Lich, and uses imprisonment on me and my party... What can I do to prevent that? I've looked all over for Magic Protection-scrolls (the green ones), but I havent been able to find any...

Protection from Magic scrolls can be bought from Ribald, in the Adventurers Mart.

If you have a Bard, cast Spell Immunity( Abjuration) and wail on the Demi-Lich with Mace of Disruption.

Melf's Minute Meteors, also hurt him, dealing 1-2 damage per hit.

Ring of Ram also hurts Demi-Lich and knocks him back too.

It also sounds obvious - but you might also consider going back when your at a higher level. Personally, I think that if your mage is not yet at level 14, you shouldn't make the attempt - unless you like reloading...

Level don;t matter as long as you have some berserker rage and a couple of +5 weapons

Unfortunatly your mage can;t do anything against Kangaxx

But I am quite high lvl... I'm a monk lvl 20, as for all the other of my partymembers, and I have natural ressistance to magic, but even though I drink a potion that gives me 50% more (=118%), he still imprisons me!
And I've been at the Adventures Mart, but unless I already bought em before, he dosnt have any green protection from magic scrolls... and I've been everywhere I know looking for them! I cant get em from the merchant in distress by the gates, cuz I already bought and used em a long time ago to take down liches and the enemys at that secret entrance on the bridge. I dont have a bard, and no one who can use rage... what can I do???

List your entire party.

It will make it easier for us to formulate strategies that way.

Protection from Undead works well, too. Give them to your mages (so they can continue casting spells) and Protection from Magic to your fighters (for they won't be able to cast spells anyway). Good hack and slash!

Myself: lvl 20 monk
Minsc: lvl 17 ranger
Imoen: lvl 16 mage and lvl 7 thief
Aerie: lvl 14 cleric and lvl 13 mage
Nalia: lvl 17 mage and lvl 4 thief
Mazzy: lvl 18 fighter

Anyway, if you do... while Kangaxx is changing into Demi-Lich, quickly retreat your fighters and move Aerie in front, wielding the Mace of Disruption. Make sure she has Spell Immunity activated. You should cast it when Kangaxx is nearly dead while in Lich form. Choose the school of Abjuration to nullify Imprisonment.

Note: Aerie may fail her saving throw against the initial Demi-Lich Howl, just reload if that happens.

Minsc has rage, but I heard that it is buggy and does not work properly. I am not too sure about that matter.

this is probably dumb and might not work. but get all of your party away from him except for your mage who you polymorph into a mustard jelly. Let the lich blow all his spells and then take him out. all his protect spells should run out by then too.

Look at the post Avatar wrote... Spell Immunity, Abjuration. The mustard jelly-thing wont work so well, cuz Kangaxx the Demi-Lich can cast Imprison at Will.

and as we all know, Imprisonment ignores magic resistance.
