I defeated Xydusa? and hit the switch on the altar, but there is a gate covering the exit. I did not get the skull key as i killed kreug and didnt find the key. Am i stuck? I have a save game prior to my entering the temple, but am i missing something obvious? Any help appreciated. BTW, this game rocks!! I'm a late bloomer having put down computers for 10 years, only to pick them up again 3 years ago. Bugs aside, i think its what MM 6-8 could have been if not for that outdated engine.

I killed Kreug and did not realize he had a key. When I realized it I had to go back and carefully search the area where I killed him to find a key. The area was so dark that is easy to overlook even with the spirit eye spell cast.

I tried that but couldn't remember where i bumped into him. I'm down the chute now, there's two doors. By flicking the switch on the idol, i go to a hallway where there's a room with a chest, a deadend, and a gated passage in the middle. I can see the snake holds beyond, which i didnt have the key for. I cannot open the gate ot the other door in the room with the idol. Am i hooped?

As I recall he was near the very first room you come to after you get all the way into the temple.He was outside a large room that I had to pass through.

There should be a room with a fountain, and two chests. With a lever in that room, wich opens another corridor..... figure out the big puzzle from there... Good Luck!
