Im in the planar Sphere and Ive run into a group of halvlings. They have 2 mages in thier group that tear me to shreds. Doesnt seem like they would be that bad but I still die every time.

do you mean in that rocky area or the room afterward? Either or, actually this would work. Cloudkill is your friend. Cast that, and a web or two, with a greater malison. maybe throw in some animated dead, just to keep busy whatever halflings make their saves, and that should make short work of them.
