Well seeing as there is a game trivia thread and a song quote thred.
How about a General knowlage thread for General Discussion??
Well its just an Idea
Rules??
Simple
*ask one or two questions.
*if someone gets one of them right they get to ask the next question, basically its first in-best dressed..Well not really but you know what I mean.
*There can only be one person asking a question.
*Ask pretty much anything
Well I'll start with two qeustions:

1)What does CRT stand for? (as in CRT moniter) And how does it work

2)What was the name of Dick Smiths matches :D

Erm
1) Cathode Ray Tube

2) Safety Matches?

I know the first one was right, but doubt the secnd one was... so I'll ask one question:

3) What does CMOS stand for and what does it do?

Hmm, also, even if you only get one right, you win the round.
The first person to answer a question correctly wins the round.

Oh sorry... A wire with an electrical current going through it is heated up so it gives off electrons. These electrons are then attracted towards a cathode through electromagnetism. THey fire you a very small hole in the cathode to hit the screen. Where they hit, they cause the reactive chemical to give off light in one of three colours, red green and blue. Pixels are made up of dots of each of these chemicals. The stream of electrons is deflected up and down and sideways by electromagnetic plates.

Enough? :D

Ok that will do
The answer to number two was "Dickheads" :D

The CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxyde Semiconductor-FET transistor. It is basically a chip inside a computer motherboard that holds BIOS settings. It is a type of electronic circuit that can be reprogrammed, hence it's use. Also, a type of CMOS is used in Flash memory sticks and such..
Does that qualify as an answer?
