Not sure if this has already been discussed... I didn't see any posts on it. How can my character only gain 2 hp's when I have a bonus from Con that is higher than that? Is this a bug or is there something I don't know about.

Look in the guide. Once you are no longer rolling for HPs, you no longer get CON bonus as you go up in levels.

ex:
at 9th level with con 18, you would get 9*14 hps, or 126. At level 10, you only get 3 HPs, making it 129 HPs.

The max for a normal fighter (19th max, 18 CON) in this game is:
126 + 30 = 156
For a 1/2 orc or Dwarf (19 CON):
135 + 30 = 165
For a 1/2 orc or Dwarf Barbarian (19 CON):
153 + 30 = 183

Um... Duh. I forgot about that... lol. Thank you for reminding me. I haven't played a role playing games for about 17 years.. snicker.

I started AD&D in 1978 with my dad as my DM - we started with Keep on the Borderlands and finished about 8 years later with Queen of the Demonweb pits. I used 1 party the WHOLE TIME, lol. We did 25 modules, I still have each one.

Hey Glorick I know how your dad feels, I started DMg for my three kids about 15 years ago and I loved every moment of it.
My oldest boy is now a 22 year old ass kicking body guard with a son of his own and my second eldest is an airborne ranger in the US army, I wonder if AD&D had any affect on their choice of career.

When we do get together now which is not very often, I will give one guess what we do. No it's got nothing to do with masking tape and pet hampster's.

RPG-families! That sounds rather cool. Wish I had such a family.
Oh well, gotta feed my familiar.
