Seriously. Any ideas? I love the soundtrack to this game. I'd love to be able to play it on cd.

Cheers

If you bought the IWD/HoW 2-in-1 pack, it includes the soundtrack. If not, places like eBay and Half.com occasionally offer the soundtrack included in that pack.

Thanks Pirengle. I bought IWD and HoW separately, so I didn't get treated to a soundtrack cd :( But I'll keep an eye out for one online. At least now I know that IWD soundtrack cds do exist

I'd be truly surprised if your favorite MP3 search/transfer utility didn't turn up any hits for "Icewind Dale". Have you tried?

can't say I have an mp3 search utility. Do you have any recommendations?

I think the deal is different for an Apple computer (as with everything else, stupid things), but if you are on a PC then Kazaa is a pretty standard one, although Morpheus is also popular, and WinMX is a minor third option, among many others.

go to http://www.kazaalite.tk/, that one is the best in my opinion

I know this is a bit too late, but if you love the soundtrack so much, I'll sell you my copy of the IWD soundtrack. PM me if you're interested.

For anyone wanting the music of Icewind Dale, there is an easy way to get it.

Simply locate the .acm files in the MUSIC directory of the Icewind Dale directory on your hard disk and use a program like ACM2WAV to convert them to .wav format.

You can then easily burn them to audio CD or convert them to MP3.

I have done this with the Baldurs Gate music and the Icewind Dale music and my mp3's sound great!

Unfortunately I cannot remember where I found the ACM2WAV program, but with a bit of looking around with some search engines Im sure you will find it. Its command line based but very easy to use IIRC.

Hope this helps somebody!
Cheers,
kroma.

Edit - Found it: http://www.students.cs.uu.nl/people/cjwlaan/acm2wav.exe
I am running Win XP and I need to run command prompt first and then type the path to the exe file itself, just double clicking the acm2wav.exe file doesnt work for me. When its run, it will tell you how to use it but I am here to answer any questions if people get stuck with it. ;)

Interplay is releasing the Ultimate IWD Collection, which may be already available, it includes IWD, HOW, and IWD2, along with the soundtrack on cd. I just saw it today at the Interplay site.
