I have Edwin in my party and i woould like for him to be able to find familiars. Is this possible?

Also, where can I find the blade and hilt of the equilizer

First, id like to say welcome to the board.
Second. Edwin cant have a familiar and the hilt and blade are (spoiler)
in the underdark.

Welcome Balinor. NPC's cannot find familiars - only characters that you have created can do this.
