i have heard about upgrading weapons (like the mace of disruption and some ore or something)
what weapons can you do this with and HOW?

I know that the mace of disruption can be upgraded by Cromwell if you bring it to him with some illithium ore. The horn of Vallhalla can be upgraded by a trader in the promenade with a diamond and a beljuril gem. There may be more, but these are the only ones I know of.

Most weapons are upgraded by Cromwell, who is found in the southeast portion of the docks district, marked on your map. Items he makes are (with components needed in brackets):
equaliser (pommel jewel, hilt, blade)
wave halberd (shaft, blade)
crom frayr (hammer of thunderbolts, girdle of frost giant strength, gauntlets of ogre power, scroll of crom frayr)
shadow dragon armour (shadow dragon scales)
red dragon armour (red dragon scales)
ankheg armour (ankheg skull)
silver sword (hilt, blade)
gesen bow (string, shaft)
mace of disruption (mace of disruption, mithril ore)

Some other special items are made by special people:
merchant in waukeens (on platform): horn of valhalla (horn of valhalla, beljuril, diamond)
guy at umar hills (after doing tanner quest): human flesh armour (human flesh, silver dragon blood)
flail forge in Nalia's keep: flail of ages (three flail heads)
