Does anyone have a copy of the Brady Games official Strategy Guide to W & W?
If they do, would it contain a list of the items and their properties?

(If they do, it might clear up a whole lot of questions about when you get certain traits&&&)

Yes, I have one - can't say that I consider it a really informative list - pretty basic information.

Is there some item in particular you'd like me to look up??

The Wizardry 7 version had a list of all the items and their properties. That sort of list for the W&W items might be useful for decrypting the rest of D6Item.dat

I think the manual is basically abandonware, if you have it in electronic form could you post it in this forum? If it is hard copy, could you post images of the item section if any.

If there are legal problems, I have posted the Excel Spreadsheet that I used to analyze the data. People can check the entries themselves. They may spot something that I missed. (One thing I found useful: Custom sort enables you to do things like eliminate all entries equal to zero.)

I have the book form

Here - I'll give you some examples of what is listed:

Melee Weapon
Bastard Sword Type: Sword Damage:4-9 Bonuses/Pentalties: Hit-1

Offhand Weapons:
Side Axe Type: 2nd Weapon Damage: 2-3 Bonuses/Pentalties: None

Special Weapons:
Staff of Hagery Type: Pole/Staff Damage:4-10 Bonuses/Pentalties: Cursed; Hit+1, Enchant+1, Paralysis, Mana Drain, SLeep, Blind, Dazzle five charges

Missile Weapons
Short Bow Type Ranged Damage: By Arrow Bonuses/Pentalties: least damage/shortest range

Magical Instruments
Flute of Fire Spell Effect: Burn

Ring of Mirnel Effect: Armor Rating +1; Protection from Magic 15%


Basically all the item lists are similar to the samples I posted above. They don't seem really useful to me.

I'm still trying to get my computer back up to running order - which includes the usefulness of my scanner = if you think these lists are useful, let me know.

It might be worth it, if your computer is soon back in running order. Currently I have decrypted about fifty of the 94 meaningful columns. I have guesses about a lot of the other entries but some seem to make no sense.
