Here are some renders I did of my upcoming 3D Startrek Movie "Starfleet Missions II" that I've been working on for 5 years on and off...

Looks really neat

RoSs_bg2_rox 11-20-2003 11:55 AM

wow, really cool Ziroc, keep it up. I can see why you've taken so long to do it just from that little snippit!

dplax 11-20-2003 03:01 PM

5 years on one movie. Wow!

must be on red alert Very nice looking so far, but my question is, why not make something original as opposed to making a fan-work?

It IS original! It's just in the trek universe.. New characters and all.. It's based at Starfleet Academy.

My Main art IS original (Comics) And I've got over 28 fleshed out characters.

I am mainly doing the trek movie to mature my sci-fi modeling and learn more.. it's really fun, and I've learned SO much.

My first 3D Comic, 'Intrunders on Earth' is mostly my idea, and the story and new characters are all really indepth too.. I'm working on that as well for a 'soon' release.

Wow! Incredible...And how will this be released? Looks great!

*Jaw hangs wide open*

That is kicking so much ass! Better-looking than Shrek! I've been trying to work out how to make 3d movies for a long time, now - I've got the whole plot and characters worked out. Only problem: I don't know what tools to use! So if anyone could just tell me what they use to make 3D movies, I'd be a frequent visiter to this place.
Thanks in advance

Looks impressive Dan. Do you work at least part time for a studio? I know you have a bad back (very) but surely you must do some commisioned work?

Nice! I'd like to pick your brain about some of the stuff you did. Love the textures on the first one and the lighting on the second one. Again, very nice!

Sorry for the delay in replying, missed it.

What you would you like to talk about? PM me anytime, and I'll try to tell ya whatever I can

Just curious: Is it very hard to do images like that? I'm sure that it has some difficulty, or wouldn't take you so long, but does it just require the right tools, or do you need, like, super-calculus, or something, so that you can program it? I'm not all that big on math, but this is something I could definitely get into! Thought about going into game programming at first, but then decided I preferred sciences. Great Work, man! Those look fantastic! I'd love to see what you could do with Doctor Who's Tardis Console Room!

Z-Man, that is *amazing*!!

What software do you use for wireframing/rendering? I've played around with everything from 3-D StudioMax to Lightwave(a trial version, didn't have most of the tools, but still...SWEET). And all I can do is stand in awe of you, and anyone else who have the patience and creativity to do this type of work.

Pretty impressed there, you should do 3D modelling for a company or something.

Show em what you've done on your own from home...they'll be impressed. Imagine what you can do with their software on awesome machines!
