It depends on your class, if a paladin i'd say Carsomyr +5, if playing a Mage, it's the staff of the Archmage

Carsomyr+5, CromFaeyr+5 or Staff of Magi. Some of the Drow fullplate or Armor of the Hart+3.

Boots of Speed
Ring of Free Action
and any item preventing confusion

Cloak of Mirroring is THE best item

Is ideal for a warrior
You can laugh at spell casting enemies and just wade in there and kill em without worrying about spells

(add a free-action ring and you are nearly invincible)

ide have to say the best item is having Boo, when you have minsc, he just adds so much to your party. some would say that Boo doesn't count and for these critics i will provide another answer. other than Boo the second best item in the game is the ring of Gaxx. it is absolutely amazing in comparison to all the other rings in the game, and is quite a treasure. sure there are tons of good weapons and suits of armor, but there is only one spectacualr ring, and that is the ring of gaxx my friends
