Here is my latest. Started with http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ethResting.jpgand ended up with http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ingIII0069.jpg

Wow... is that over the same drawing, or did you redraw it and then color?
Thanks. Redrew the whole thing, with no outlines.
No outlines? Wow! With my drawings, I try my best to make it as seemless as possible, no lines at all anywhere, but I find I always end up having to draw in a faint outline, at the very least, just to keep proportions, and shade lines in place.
I used to do that, obviously, but I have been convinced that a sharp demarcation between tones is far more realistic than an outline. As realistic as you can get, anyway.
Well, it's not like my outlines were thick or anything. Often times, I lose where them after coming back to it or something. ;)
Yeah, that's what they tell you to do in pencil: shade them into your other tones. But, you can't do that with ink, and that's why I'm dropping it, for now.
Well, with ink, you just work on the shadows to make the shape of everything.
True, but ink is so there. This, for example, is my latest, pure graphite (on vellum Bristol board, of course).

1 quick question: Do you smudge the pencil stuff?
