Decent hotel in London

My wife and I are going to spend a few days in London in a month but we still haven't booked any hotel. We've been checking a few hotel websites (hotels, tripadvisor, etc) but we haven't found anything too convincing - everything is either too expensive or is a hostel with communal rooms (8 bed rooms and such).

I was wondering if any of you know good (and cheap) places in London that we can check. We don't mind hostels as long as they meet a couple requirements:

- Private bedrooms (just for the 2 of us). We are ok if the bathroom is not private.
- Clean.

We will appreciate any help you can provide.

We stayed at a little Hotel when we were there in '07. It had it's own bathroom and shower. It was also very close to both Paddington tube stations, which made getting around very easy.

Now, the name of the place... (checking)..

This is not it, but a great rate and customer rating:

Days Hotel Hounslow

Here's another great link:

Look for 3 stars. That way, you get the private bathroom. Most have free Cont. breakfast.

..still can't find it. I'll ask the wife when she wakes up.

Found it!
The Prince William:

The room was small, but they may have bigger ones. The location was excellent.

Been in London a few times, and every time i stayed in London Park Hotel, it's big, relavitely cheap, and close to the center.

Yeah, but he wants a "real" Hotel; not one of those cyber ones.

Earlier this year i flew back to the UK and for a few days the family and I spent time in London at this hotel. cheap but clean, modern and pleasant staff

Express by Holiday Inn London - Hammersmith

(it's a converted brewery - how can you resist?) It's in the middle of the west end of london, close to the tubes and buses. Also it is easy to get to heathrow airport.

Re: Decent hotel in London

Thanks everyone for the responses, I really appreciate it. Some of the hotels you recommended don't have any available rooms for the dates I need, but I still checked them all plus the cheap London hotels website.

I got another recommendation from another source and I will probably go with this one (will decide today). It's 90 euros a night which is a bit more than I was hoping for. On the plus side, we love its location and we can walk to a lot of places from there. I also haven't found anything cheaper that doesn't have at least a few reviews stating that they found the hotel dirty, smelly or something similar and I don't want to risk that.

I will book it tonight so if you have any last minute recommendation or you have any tips about this hotel I would really appreciate them.

EDIT: Forget what I just said, I made a mistake locating the hotel in Google maps, it's a bit farther than we'd like. We're leaning towards hotel 82 now.

EDIT2: Messed the links.

If you're going in a month from now, I would try to haggle with them. October is not usually a busy month.
