yes, but he is protected most of the time by impoved mantle stoneskin etc, and has very low saveing throwes.

Theoretically, but I wouldn't bet on it. His saves and resistances are incredible.

I've done it. I got lucky once and nailed him with the Silver Sword right after my mages breached and pierced his defenses. Dead in one round. It is actually pretty dissappointing.

Well since the vorpal blade effect is basically finger of death it will toast most anything even irenicus if you greater malisoned and doomed him.

The first piece is the hilt, which you get form Saemon Havarian. The second piece you get after a few encounters with Giths who are trying to retrieve the hilt. You get the blade in chapter 6, after a fight which happens when you get back to the city (assuming you choose not to give them the hilt). Take the pieces to Cromwell & he'll make the sword.

Damn that Vorpal blade, used it on a dragon, think red, didn't do much till I had Aerie and Imoen in Ch 6 hit him with breach and lower resistance then, wham, one to 3 hits and he falls

In order for the Vorpal blade to kill Irenicus, it has to make it's probability of killing. Magic resistance, armor none of it matters. There is a percentage chance of the sword killing, and if it makes that, the target is dead, irregardless of who it hits when it does. Read the description.
