WARNING - Don't install the patch..
 

I did, and it made the game unplayable. as in, you click the icon, and click PLAY and nothing happens.
I uninstalled--keeping saves and settings installed, reinstalled and everything is back. whew.

It's affecting a LOT of people.. Seems to have an issue with the C++ Libraries.. wait for an 'ok' before installing it.

Just wanna warn ya.

ALSO---some have also had this issue installing the toolset. Smells of EA taint to me.. :D

Thanx for the 'heads up', AND a non-gush input. Is it the norm nowadays to release a patch at launch?? That's sad, but gotta make the holiday sale season!

Yeah.. All in all, I think it's a grand game.. They were smart enough to let you uninstall, and reinstall and keep playing with no issues--rare :).

I'm at the first 'camp'.. Should I have kept the doggy? I know he can find treasure sometimes, and do the howl to stun, but I dropped him for the Imoen looking chick with red hair. Took her armor off REAL fast!! HAHAH.. j/k... (well, not really). :D 'hawt'

Had it installed since yesterday and no issues. Unless this is another patchy.

Yep! Patch( or update) at launch is also becoming a console game norm now that they are all online too.

Probably want to update this, there is a documented fix for the issue if it crops up. Apparently some people don't update windows and it's C++ Libraries very often, Went to the listed MS website and installed the requisite Windows fixes and the patch works fine.

Good to see this sort of thing! I just ordered the game for my husband for Christmas and even though it's not multiplay, of course I had to get one for me, too! :D Won't have much time to play for a while which is good since I couldn't hide it from hubby if I was playing it already! LOL
