I plan to use Edwin instead of Aerie, but will i loose Minsc as he has adopted the winged winger as his witch. If i loose him is there a replacement as good.

I don't know if you lose him, (I don't think so), but if you have Edwin and Minsc in your party, they'll end up fighting each other some day, coz in BG1, Edwin wanted Dynaheir(Minsc's witch) dead.

you could get Keldorn, but he'd fight with Vic

I think that Valygar would be a decent replacement for Minsc (who I'm sure would leave, either because you kicked out Aerie or because of Edwin). I don't think Valygar would have a problem with anyone in that group either.

viconia and valygar can get into a fight; just be careful when talking to prostitutes. (vicky thinks val is gay.)

decide soon. aerie and korgan will have issues as well.

Hmm.. unless you take Edwin you dont have any pure mage. Multiclass mages can cast only 6th level spells. Or maybe you feel OK with it.

Minsc is worth keeping (not just
because he's funny) but he is a good
tank.

I would take Anomen (even if he is
annoying at times) instead of Viconia.
Anomen is a much better cleric, and
possible tank.

I would take Nalia or Imoen for a full
mage instead of Jan or Aerie.

Aren't we forgetting someone? If you are looking for a tank replacement for Minsc then you can't go wrong with Mazzy really. Her special abilities make her extremely useful in fights, not to mention her obvious knack at spreading enemies all over the scenery with just a short sword. She doesn't have a great strength but there are a couple of good items for this so it doesn't matter too much... She may have a bit of a problem with Korgan and Viconia but that is half the fun of the game!!!

I thought Minsc was the funniest ever the first time i played BG I(because of Boo) , and it was still a good laugh for ahwile in BG II , but after ahwile the novelty wore off and i soon became sick of "butt-kicking goodness"

so i vote "not to minsc"
