Remember the blonde-hair/blue-eyes craze of WWII?

Why is it every full beholder has a central red eye, but ALL of its eye stalks are blue eyes? Are the creators warped versions of power-mad 1940's mad Germans? Do Captain America or the Red Skull pop up in this game (Red Skull = Demi-Lich? hmmmm....)? Just a little OTL fun...

If Captain America does show up, he would HAVE to be a paladin.

Actually, ignoring the simplifications of programming and editing for the creators, I believe that the Beholders are extra-planar. I know the Spectators are extra-planar, so I imagine the regular Beholders are too. I am too lazy to go get my Monsterous Arcanum book about the Beholders though.

As far as I can remember, they are so very alike because they reproduce by copying themselves somehow.
