who's the best magician (mages, clerics etc.) and the best magic ever in this game? open debate!!!!

This kind of debate invariably fails to reach any kind of conclusion until the participants on one side suffer strokes/heart attacks or decides that there is no further point. It has failed to sway either side in the past, and it will fail to sway either side now; because it is human nature to think that you are right and that they are wrong.

I have never managed to convert any Cleric-lovers, and they have never managed to convert us Mage-lovers. If the search function was still operational, I would point you to a Mage versus Cleric thread that spanned nearly a dozen pages with no conclusion. It was commendably civil most of the time, but who were we kidding? Nobody wanted to switch camps.

So I will end my post on this note. Both are good.

Aw Dundee, you thread-killer, you

Dundee is correct you cannot honestly say that ANY class is best. They all have their pro's and con's. When using a party try make the pro's and con's balance. When doing a solo try to exploit every pro you can.

You forgot "whilst minimizing your cons"

And although I absolutely agree, that doesn't mean we cannot tell others why we like one class better than the other. Personally. I've never bothered too much with clerics, druids or magi, as my favoured classes are ranger and bard. I suppose that you could count the ranger among the druids if you liked, and toss the bard in with the magi. Except for the fact that I myself see those as special bonusses instead of an important part of the character's class. Rangers don't need magic, and a preformer can make do with sleight of hands and a good voice ;)
