Okay, I got Anomen in my party. He's so super arrogant, annoying and all like that, I'm almost kicking him out. He's always boasting about being such a great fighter, but his sure like h*ll is NOT. The funny part is that Jan is always making him look bad ( and I mean look REAL BAD), if Jan does that, Anomen is threatning him, saying he will kill Jan for that, so far for the "noble" paladin way. What should I do with him. I am considering to take Valygar or Mazzy instead (I'm a mage at the moment). Any advice would be welcome.

Either Valygar or Mazzy would be an admirable replacement for Mr. Arrogant. Let's face it, he doesn't make that great a cleric (though it is possible to improve his wisdom via a quest), and he doesn't have enough levels in fighter to make that class count. He is also generally irritating. Therefore, I'd say ditch him.

pfff anomen he sux ...

no. Anomen is cool.

His 'Turn undead' ability really makes him useful and the fact that he can wear armour gives him protection long enough to send undead charactors running away/expode them. Also, don't forget his lesser/greater restoration spells and healing capabilities and he's dead useful ('scuse the pun). When there's no undead around, he's still prettty handy to have around with his little mace.

I'd choose him as party cleric over aerie any day (aerie has few combat spells and can't wear armour either...)

I'd definetly stick with Anomen for all the reasons above. Plus if you keep him long enough then he will become less arrogant.

After doing Anomen's quest properly (I don't want to spoil this for you), his wisdom gains a boost and this will no longer be a problem.
Personally, Anomen is my favorite cleric. The reasons for this are the number of spells he can cast, the high levels he can attain, his turn undead ability (believe me, liches be can killed with it at level 17), his excellent hitpoints, a helping hand in melee combat due to his high strenght and the fact he can attain weapon mastery in cleric weapons. Need to say more? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
For me, the fact that he is arrogant, annoying, stuck-up and all that and has a very irritating voice has one purpose: to counterbalance his power. If you can tolerate his behavior long enough you'll not regret it.

He excels over any cleric due to the fact that he is a lvl 7 fighter (so he has rolled d10 instead of d8 for his first 7 levels), and he has gained an extra 1/2 attack per round for being this level. His ability to achieve grandmastery in weapons such as the mace, warhammer and flail will give him an ADDITIONAL 5/2 attacks per round (i.e. attacking 3 times with the Grandmaster patch). He is stronger than any other NPC cleric allowing him to wear full plate, and his side quest (if completed succesfully) will raise his wisdom to 16 which is more than adequate for a priest. Keep him!

Well, i'm a cleric myself, so i have no use for a 3rd or 4th cleric, as i've got airie as well. I'd have to say that mazzy is very usefull. She is a good fighter, but can also stand back and hail a storm of arrows down upon the enemy. I ussually give her the bow that can fire 3 times per round. although she has a few other bows to chose from. She's got -7 ac and a +3 shortsword (Sword of Backstabbing?) for close quarters combat. She was great in the Unseeing Eye quest which i just finished in ch.2.

Yes, Mazzy is a great character and a damn good archer. She fires arrows like crazy and she hits almost always. Her only problem is her strenght, but it can be easily solved by a pair of gauntlets of ogre power or a girdle of giant strenght. All her other stats are great and she has excellent HPs.
This bow you talk about (Tuigan Bow) is great for her, but it requires ammo and you'll have trouble to hit creatures that require +3 or higher weapons to be hit. After you solve Trademmet problems (druid and genies) you can buy Tansheron's Bow, which can hit any creature (except for those immune to piercing damage)and requires no ammo.
Is it just my impression, or Mazzy seems to be an underrated NPC?

You're right. Mazzy is a really underrated NPC. I more or less ignored her the first time I played through, but I tried her out on my second go and she is really quite effective. Especially, as you've pointed out, with an infinite ammo bow. Plus she's cheerful, loyal and often amusing. I also really like the voice acting on her.

I'd recommend anyone who hasn't given Mazzy a go to try her out... you never know... you may just like her. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
