I have found the three items for the temple of Rillifain (or however you spell it) and placed them on the alter in the middle and nothing happens. Is there something else I need to do before it will activate the avatar ? I have the stone, the goblet, and the moonblade. The only unusual thing I have seen is that under normal circumstances you will have two half round arrows pointing at each other for a quest completing move. In this case you are supposed to put them on an altar that is more like a chest? I cannot figure this one out. There are no more actions that I can do in the temple and I must admit that the statue in the middle does not look like a statue of anyone in particular, it just looks like a big hunk of rock.

Is there another quest that I need to complete to reform the statue maybe and turn it into a true alter? Or have I just gone to the wrong place entirely?

Ok, assuming the stone you have is the stone from the priests abode.
Go to the first level room there go to the box and use the stone to solve the puzzle of which came first. Think it is corellion, Riflaine, water,tree, suldanessar. This hsould give you the talisman which is the third item needed to summon the avatar.
