Though I have done it before, this time through I cannot challenge for leadership of the Grove. Even though I have completed every subplot and part of the game I can, and am currently a 15th level Druid, when I go to Varthan to challenge, my only option is "I am not yet ready...". I am about to conclude this is a bug. At any rate, the only reason I'm playing a Druid is to get the stronghold. If there's no way I can, I'll just start over and play something else. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

You can't even let Cernd do it?

and you HAVE ti be level 14...
in which case you are pretty much F*****

Maybe ToB can fix this
or...
get shadowkeeper to lower your Level to 14

Actually, I do have ToB installed, and I did do this once before with a level 20 or so druid. Course, he was a single-class druid, and mine is dual-classed. Still, when I first arrived at the grove to challenge Faldorn, I even had Cernd with me at that point, it let my PC do the fight. In fact, the dialogue only allowed me to do it. But once I killed her and they installed Varthan as challenge master, every time I attempt to challenge, my only dialogue option is "I am not yet ready.." I will try changing my level to 14 to see what happens and let you all know. But this is very vexing.

Well, tried changing to level 14. No go. Tried everything I can think of. No go. In my book, this is a bug, and I'm just going to start over with a different character and go for a different stronghold. If anyone has ever done the druid stronghold, please let me know what happens beyond just becoming the great druid and that's that. Thanks.

Maybe it's a bug with the dual-classed druid. I didn't have a
problem with it the only time I did the stronghold. (lvl 14)

It's a bug, probably happenend after you installed ToB. 2 ways to fix
1. De-install the game totally (shouldn't delete your save games)
2. Get the ToB patch
