That is the question.....

I am looking at buying the new Dell Axim X51v.
Well, I am fairly certain I am going to buy it, unless I find something better...Very soon.

Only problem is Dell constantly change their deals. At the moment they are offering a 512MB SD card free with it if you buy online, which is nice, but I also know that one of their other deals is 20% off when you buy online.
I could really use this right now as things are chaotic and I have seen how handy they are, especially for someone like me in IT that can use all its features and especially for email and such, but I just can't decide if my desperation for one should overcome the chance that Dell will change their deals anytime soon and I might save a bit of money...

So what do you guys think? Should I wait? In all honesty, they money factor doesn’t mean all that much as I can easily afford one, but its the principle that counts

And if you guys know of any better ones out there that I can get in Australia, please, do tell.
Oh, and I am not really looking for one that is also a mobile phone, but I do want something fairly top of the line and heavy duty.

I'd say go for it. You never know what deals may come up in the future, it could be better or it could be worse. So if you think the current offer is value for money, then go ahead & buy it.

Wait untill the deals are close to runnung out then ring the sales office. Someone there should be able to hold the offer for you for a few days after they expire, allowing you to check if any better offers take their place. Thats what I did anyway.

Hmm, I knew this would happen, one person saying I should, one person saying I shouldn't

I should have made a poll....

Oh well, I think I will go for it, as it could be months before the other good deals come around again. :(

512 MB sd ram is crap, that's probably why they're giving it away for free. It's simply not of this day and age anymore. I'd get with the 20% off deal if i were you. But since money isn't the problem as you say, i wouldn't want a Dell deal at all, but build a PC myself instead.

The DEll Axim is not a PC, it's a PDA.

johnny 10-04-2005 08:26 PM

So i see, that's what you get if you don't check the link. :D

Wait. I always buy from Dell and it's true soon you'll get your 20% off or free shipping.

burnzey boi 10-06-2005 09:21 AM

i only have 50 megs of ram... And im doing great.. sorta.

Intrepid 10-06-2005 10:31 AM

no wireless/bluetooth?
that'll mean that if you want it you'll need a wireless sd card, so you won't be able to use it and the storage in the sd slot at the same time.

otherwise excelent system, all the specs are insane, i mean 640x480 in a PDA, and the ram and the video memory! amazing

[edit]
oh it does have it,
well in that case that's an amazing PDA, i'd say go for it.
