I just lucked into this - hope it helps somebody.
Ok - you made it to the dream with Imoen there to offer aid if you'll lure the badass into her part of the building. Firstly, I never saw her do much helping - perchance this "combining of wills" was just psychic cheerleading. I died a few times reckoning with this situation. Using "Oil of Speed", I even slapped Bhaal around with some spells, but he kept ho' slapping me silly. Then - accidently - a foolproof method is discovered. My main character (mage) has nearly all offensive magic - with one exception, Protection from Normal Weapons. Heck I rarely use it ... I may have to rethink that. Anyway, under its spell, ol' Bhaal can't seem to do any damage. You'd think he'd have a deadlier weapon. Anyway, with Bhaal's attacks harmlessly bouncing off my frail mage, a dagger was all I needed to gut the foul and mouthy brute. S*T |
The dream contains your soul not Imoen, and Bhaal is invincible until he's in the prescence of Imoen. So for example, I used mirror image and a monk to smack my b*tch up and then proceeded to run to Imoen. Bhaal was on one hit point but would not go below until he saw Imoen, at which point I threw a stone at him and finished the dream sequence.... (mirror Image courtesy of some sword)

In the presence of the image of Imoen, all damage is doubled. if you can use a sling and have boots of speed, you can fire, run, fire, run, etc. and never get touched. BTW, what happens if Bhaal kills you in the dream? Can he?

Heh, i was an frail level 10 mage at the time, just dualed from an level 13 kenshi, anway i had that spider figure, and i used it to keep mister bhaal bussy and traped him while my mage ran away and then did the mief's metrore spell and owned bhaal
