LARP meets REPO

OK, Cloudy and I were sitting down tonight watching a show that we both enjoy, Operation Repo on TruTV, and we just saw the most hilarious thing. With no further ado, I bring you...Dungeons & Dragons Repo

Watch and enjoy. :hee:

I completely lost it when the "Princess" kept waving her 'wand/scepter'? at the tow hitch on the repo truck and yelling "STOP" as if she completely expected it to stop! ROTFL!

LOL...couldn't agree more. I've seen quite a few people at SCA events/wars forget to step back into reality when necessary. Of course, they tend to have the excuse of large flagons of ale. :D

TDC...HEHE...That brought back sooooo many memories. Thanks for the link! :D

Bungleau...Yeah, in this case, his penalty was having to deal with the 'princess'.

She (the princess) was cracking me up at the end, screaming 'is this any way to treat a princess?!?'. HEHEHEHEHE

I like how at one point the repo man tells the dude with the sword and round shield to drop it or he'll shove that sword up his arse LOL. Dude was quick to drop his (probably plastic) weapons. :hehe:

I have to use the line "I am known by that name in your realm" more often.

How very strange. Suspiciously strange one might say. I'm thinking Princess & Co are paid actors and the whole thing was orchestrated. Too many little things don't add up. Entertaining though.

Anyway, enough about that. I'm intrigued about how the repo system works over there now. 3 payments behind on a car and the financer pulls the plug? I understand that the finance may have come from a dealership instead of a major institution, but isn't that still a bit too harsh? Not to mention a bit too hasty to write off a (arguably) profitable payment plan and jump straight to a loss? GFC is ancient history already?

Also, i get that repos are little more than professional assholes, but don't they still have a minimum duty of care? I imagine they located the car by the satellite security which means they would have known it wasn't in its usual area. After the amount of times they mentioned discomfort at doing the job in an isolated area, they spare no thought for the people they've just stranded? (Of course, Princess & Co didn't really help their plight at all.) I'm not a confrontational person at all, but i know i wouldn't be handing over the car in that situation and i'd imagine the same would be true for most people. Do repos over there always go about their job the hard way? Or just when there's cameras?

From what I recall of the show, it's all reinactments of actual events. Though they would be on of the oddest repo agencies I've ever heard of, I mean, doing their job during daylight hours and such.
