Error: abnormal program termination
 

I'm playing as a Solo Sorcerer through SoA and ToB. When I load the game after a couple of moments the game crashes to desktop and I get the above message ("Error: abnormal program termination") on the screen.

Mods installed (all are the latest version: Ascension, BG2 spells extended to level 50, Dungeon Be Gone, Kelsey, Oversight Sendai, Rogue Rebalancing, Spellhold Gauntlet, Stuff of the Magi (WeiDu version), Ease of Use, Item Upgrade, Solaufein, Tactics and Valen.

The way to troubleshoot this is tedious,,,here goes...

1. Load up the configuration program. Disable any 3D audio or video. Load up the game and see if it works. If it does, then there is a 3D conflict of some sort.

2. If the game is still no joy, then you have to uninstall the Mods till you find which one is causing the problem. I recommend doing it this way.......
A. Uninstall ALL Mods and see if the basic game works correctly. If the game works now, then re-enable any 3D functions and check again. If the game still works, then we have.........
B. A Mod problem. Re-install the mods 2 or 3 at a time, then start the game to see if it still works. Repeat as neccessary till problem reoccurs.
C. Pay attention to the Mod installation process and try to see if any of them load with errors, that one could be the problem. Also make sure the Mod installation order is correct.

Good error description. I could've mistaken it for normal program termination otherwise.

Just a question: when you say load the game do you mean load up a saved game (i.e. menu and everything work fine, only actual gameplay causes the crash) or does "load the game" mean starting the game itself (i.e. it crashes immediately at the menu screen)?

Menu works fine and everything. Game loads normally, then after couple of seconds it crashes.

@ElfBane: will try that too. If I have the patience. LOL.

Well, iirc, his name is Balthazar... creature codes should be listed in Shadowkeeper, so I would recommend checking there.

I asume that the CLUA code is "BALTH"?

If it's in there as BALTH, then that'd be it.
