What is your favourite module?

Im thinking to download some but with a small bandwidth i don't want to waste time on lousy ones...which tips can you guys give me whan choosing a couple of modules?

Really Good:

penultima rerolled 1-2 + city (soon to be more)

If bandwidth / download time is an issue, steer clear of "in the footsteps of dante" (although it is a very good mod) as it is 71 megs large!

That's a pretty good list that Gabrielle put out. SOme others that I would add:

Pool of Radiance by Chris Fowler - (great mod for starting level characters finishing at about 11 or 12)

Rune - Subliminal darkness - this is ONE TOUGH MOD .. NOT for the faint of heart!

There are different files and filenames and I don't know where to put them!
Can someone help?

@Dreamer - Yes, the PoR mod is DESIGNED to be played with a new starting level character, level 1 to 3.

@Tyrion - most mods have a read me file that tells you where to put the various files. In general, the mod file goes in the MOD folder, the hak file goes in the HAK folder. Which mod(s) are you trying to install and what files are giving you problems? I have over 50 mods downloaded so I can probably look at mine and tell you where the files should go.

There are only 5 tga files in the SASA zip file, and those are for a custom portrait set. All 5 tga files should be copied to your portrait folder. If you've already done that, and it isn't working, let me know. There might be a problem with the tag files. I can check them out at home tonight to make sure the files themselves look okay.

Just got the game and I immediately downloaded the Pool Of Radiance module and having a hell of a time! Can't believe I put off buying the game this long! Not bad at all. :D

Guys, most mods will have a text file with some simple instructions on where to unzip specific files (if they don't already come with an installer). So read that text file before you unzip the files and you should be ok. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Ugh! Witches Wake?! THAT WAS THE MOST TERRIBLE MOD I'VE PLAYED!!! I don't mean the mod itself, but the plot was terrible!

well, the plot wasnt that great, but i liked the fact that it was conversation driven rather than combat driven for exp.

Those wern't that great anyway. I thought the whole mod was stupid. I played it twice, and now I just use it for the scripts [img]tongue.gif[/img]
