MORDRICK THE MAD 03-18-2001 07:21 AM

Dear readers.
I have just arrived in sunny Undeerdark and got myself stuck in the Mindflayers little village. Oh and I'm having a lot of problems please read on...........
I have scoured this board for advice given to other people who had my problem but my plight seems to be a bit more severe as I dont have
Raise dead
Chaotic commands
A mage
Any potions of intelligence
My party of halfwits consists of myself(obviously)Fighter/Mage, Kivan F***ing useless and Artemis(although I altered his stats to make it fairer).
Now be honest I'm screwed aren't I?, I've has much chance of gettin out of here intact as a virgin on prom night. HELP ME!

You're not quite as screwed as the virgin http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif
But I really don't see a way out for you. Your character is a fighter/mage can't he cast spells? DO you have any monster summoning spells/wands??? If not I would say a reload of a saved game is in order

It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear ignorant,
than open it and remove all doubt!

Maikaden's sword, cheapest crap of all, nothing kills it

Jaheira can do 'Harper raise dead' spell but it is not quite as good as the Cleric spell since it drains her of 10 hp. If you are in Underdark, she should have it in her book by now. However, there IS SOME hope. If you manage to get to....

the slaves room, you will be able to get something to help you get to another area where you can get something that will protect you VERY well, from the Mind Flayers.
Hope this helps.
Personally, I would start over with a smarter team, lol!

I have no end of trouble with this bit every time I get to it.

You can use any summoning spell/wand at all, just get a barrier between you and the mind flayers. Undead work best, because they don't have brains, but as you don't have that, your main aim should be to stop them getting near you. Any wall of flesh will help!

It's true that having a party who's total intelligence points you can count on one hand doesn't help.

Also, try setting the game difficulty to the easiest setting for the duration of that part if you are really stuck. You can always put it back up again afterwards. I know this is cheating, but it is annoying to start again after getting that far!

LOLOLOL

Mordrick that post cracked me up. I remember answering that other post with the 'intelligence potions' advice. Fat lot of good it was to you down there. LOL. Sounds like you're up s--t creek without a paddle in a barbed wire boat.

Have you tryed the decoy method, trying to draw them out into chasing you?
Have you tried using door (open...fire..shut quickly...) tactics?

The idea of using undead is great. Can you do it?

No mage. What, if any spells are available to you? What has Jahiera got?

Did you find the room with the circlet thingys? There's also some potions around that give a measure of protection. If you could sneek in....

It's been a while since I played that level, but you sound in deep poo.

Epona?

Yorick 03-18-2001 12:19 PM

Who is Artemis? How many characters have you got? I didn't quite get it. Is your PC a Fighter/Mage? Or a Monk as in your sig? What is Kivan? A Ranger like in BG1?
