VERY good point here, IMO. I think the basics of the recent threads (this one included) shows that ALL of us need to start paying more attention, asking more questions. I've noticed a trend in America over the last decade or so toward "non-interference". People see someone being mugged and walk the other way - that sort of thing. Not that EVERYONE is doing that, but that has been the trend. "It's not in my house, so it's not my problem." I think it may be a trend in other countries, too. We need to quit focusing entirely on the problems of the past, acknowledge them yes and remember them certainly, but improve for the future.

I'll second to that! If I knew anybody here has treated me differently because I'm a woman, I'd be disappointed... (except when it means being told "get beer, wench...please" http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif)

I lived through it too, only I am not basing my post on history books. For 10 years I served in the US NAvy in an Intelligence role, I was priveledged to SEE what happened and what was said by whom, via Secure Communications links. Yes the Allies tried to offer support, advice and warnings, but in the end the weight of the world litterlly was on only two mens heads. There was tremendous pressure all along the chain of command. Im not trying to minimize the roles of the allies, just remind people who actually had the responsibility is all.

Have a good evening Flots http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif err may I ask what Fljotsdale means?

First - I hate abbreviations of the name! But I don't mind F if you don't want to write out the whole awkward name, lol! (though you could just copy & paste!).

As for waht it means - I 'did' Old Icelandic at uni, and Fljotsdale was the name of a valley in Iceland. I chose it because I was frustrated with every name I chose for my e-mail account was 'taken' and had to have a number after it for me to use it as well. I wished to be unique (vanity!) and I figured Fljotsdale would not be popular. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif I have kept it ever since. I am very fond of it! Dunno what Fljot means though. I guess I should look it up, but am too lazy!
