I got about 40K gold and it only cost me 15K to release Imogen now, the problem is when i do it seems like i'm changing chapters? And i loose all my ongoing quests? Is this true? Should i not release her till i solved all the quests i can get in the city if i don't want to loose any quests?

You don't lose your ongoing quests.
The journal displays the quests chapter by chapter (Click on the arrows to see the quests from previous chapters).

Go ahead and pay the man off - you can still complete all of the quests...

Lioness, the picture in your post is sweet. I like lions. Yep, I'm a lion roarrrr. They're very interesting and beatiful animals.

I actually went on to rescue Imoen quite early in the game (didn't complete Planar Sphere, Windspear Hills and Trademeet quests) as I got tired of being sidetracked and also wanted Imoen to gain exp points fast.

Some of the monsters you meet from Chapters 4-5 will be of lower level (compared to if you had gone later), to match your own party's experience pts. I liked the change in scenery and atmosphere, and almost regretted leaving those exotic places; found that things were comparatively static in Athklata.

I couldn't stand Nalia's whining so Imoen was the only alternative for my good/neutral-aligned party. She does gain experience points slowly, but then my party did not rely excessively on magic in the first place.
