Hi! I'm just curious if its at all feasible for the moderator/s of this quite outstanding message board to provide downloadable, printer-friendly, and comprehensive New Starter/Refresher orientation kit (not really a kit, something downloadable and printable) for newbies as well as not so newbies like me. Frankly I'm getting sick of not being really able to use many of the UBB codes (like nice smileys and other perks). After 20 or so postings, I'm still limited to the simple smiley... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

The kit might include the terms of conduct (quite necessary I think), UBB code refresher/orientation, summed up history of the boards, other small facts and interesting features, etc. It could be in .pdf, .doc, or whatever format so long as it's printer friendly.

I don't know, that may help. In fact, if any moderator could send me such info through my mail, I'd be more than happy to compile it for this board.

Comments please, this is just a suggestion that's all.... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif There I go again.

<font color="white">That is actually a good idea!
Although...nothing like that is available now...
somebody will need to set down and take the time to make one.
If there was enough demand for it, I am sure somebody will be able to oblige you.</font>

Thanks for the support Larry, although, from what may be apparent with your postings, you'd be one of the last to need something like this... hehehe Cute kid you got there Bro! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

i dunno - you can find out a lot by clicking on edit/delete on someone elses post, and its all just HTML tags anyway. you set the sig somewhere under profile.

however, if someone could write a document it would save some hassle from the newbies.

Someone could start a post that will later be archived which would allow a "newbie" (I hate that term, we were all newbies once) instant access to many hints and tips. Submissions would have to be clear and to the point, with little to no banter, to provide the maximum amount of information in as concise a manner as possible.

That way, you will get many ideas and hints/tips, without missing anything, as many of the regulars here have an outstanding knowledge of HTML it seems...

yes, but such a post would inevitably become buried, and we all know just how good newbies are at searching, dont we. youd have to make it either a sticky thread, and take up room on the front page and isnt until the next software version anyway, or better yet a seperate button. large of course since those newbies seem to miss the small ones.
