IMMEDIATLEY BACK UP ALL YOUR CRITICAL DATA

cos it sounds like your hard-drive might be about to die. if this is the case you should also get similar errors in simple things like word. oh and try your data/power cables to the drive b4 panicing and buying a new one. backing up is a good idea anyway - that way a loud bang and puff of smoke wont be the end of the world.

now that the worst case scenario is out of the way - you do have space on your drive dont you. try killing c:/windows/temp if you need to free some. you could also have a corrupt exe or a scratch on your cd - try doing a full install from someone elses discs and see if that helps.

not being able to find the right path tends to mean that something is fundamentaly wrong with either your install or your registry. if you un-installed bu deleting the dir and then re-installed somewhere else you might get this. uninstall properly and clear the registry of any reference to black isle and baldurs gate (careful if you have another black isle product installed) and try again.

If i were you i would check through your prograe files in your hard drive. other than that i have no idea

Either your hard drive is dying or you have a corrupt operating system. There is no reason imaginable for you to get a blue screen installing the game. Try running scandisk and see what it says.
