Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

 PLEASE NOTE

This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members.

So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours. ;)

..just had to be first! Well, it's supper time here so I'll have cafe special! What is the special? Do I want to know?

I am a very, very, very, very happy penguin. I just made the switch from IE to Firefox, and I am very happy... everything feels so... clean. Though for some reason AIM won't work. :( I know it sucks, but it's the only messenger my friend's use. I sign on, try to message someone, and it crashes when it brings up the message window. It's frustrating. :(

Curly fries.

They're always "speshul".

We have them at work. I work at a movie theater and, speaking of which, I gotta go to work TONIGHT!

NOOO! YOU CAN'T MAKE ME GO!

~Xan
((I've seen Phantom of the Opera movie twice, once with my sister, once with my father. I will see it again with my mother. Why? Cause all of us going at once made waaay too much sense and if they go with me they can get in for free.))

SomeGuy 01-15-2005 04:50 PM

Hey I wanna go to the movies too! It's Saturday and I have nothing to do but sit here all alone and eat Blueberry poptarts!

First post actually took 36 minutes this time? Sheesh the café is slowing down these days. I had a boring day, trying to study a lot, because next week we have exams, which count for half of the semester's marks. I managed to work ok, until about 4 pm after which concentration went down the drain. Still I managed to do about 80% of what I wanted to do today, so this only means that I'll have a bit more to do tomorrow.

Is it from Phantom of the Opera's music that Nightwish made their cover track Phantom of the Opera? I know they made it from A Lloyd Webber's music, but is it he who made the music for the film, or am I confusing something?

I'm re-playing "KingMaker" for NWN. Great module. I got the Romance right, this time. There was a LOT of stuff I didn't see the first time around.

What's that?
NWN is Neverwinter Nights, and KingMaker is Bioware's new premium module for it, very superior to 99% of the Community Modules. Great plotline, lots of cutscenes, a really sweet Romance with a scarred nymph named Kaidala, and some really snappy voice-acting. Very intriguing ending, obviously there is a sequel in the works. Look here.

It's sunday and I had to wake up at 7:30 AM already. Played 2 indoor hockey games, we won both. Perfect revenge on the coach of the other team who took indoor hockey really serious while we just do it for fun. He made some comments on our organisatory skills and the chaos on our side. Wiped them off the field :D

Hi all ;)
Just got back from my holiday on the gold coast (Very nice) we stayed at surfers paradise, went to Seaworld, Wet n' wild, Dreamworld and a heap of other places.
Wow, it was great, best holiday I have been on, lots of nice beaches, lots of shops, lots of people, lots of beautifull women :D and so on....
The trip was very good, considering I was stuck in the back of a Pajero the whole way.
And we were able to find respite care for my disabled sister so we didnt have to take her with us (Lol, might sound cruel but it is hard to take her to some places)
And we finally got away without our alarm going crazy (needed fixing)
Lol, I did quite a bit, finished a few drawings, picked out my first bike well, when I get a job ;)
So uhhhh yeah, whats been happening?? Was I missed? wait...of coarse I was :D
