but what do you do?

Followed up with an 'open' question,
ie "Do you like the band?"
(It's amazing what studies actually get funding these days!)


Pick up lines only work with people who have the looks/humour to carry them through - otherwise they tend to count against you.

I would plan a witty, slightly immature and yet highly sophisticated comment the would fit the situation we were in perfectly...

Which I would promptly forget as soon as we were face to face and would end up saying something highly embarassing.
