I've got a question to ask... Is it possible for normal BG2 players to obtain the items and NPCs that players who bought the collectors edition have? What are hte files needed? I've been searching the net high and low for them but to no avail... I need 2 items in there... shield of baluran and darkons zerth blad(katana).. You should be able to get the files from http://www.bgdungeon.com/bg2/downloads.htm.

2 zip files that you extract to you overrides dir, and then you should get the extras.

That shield is great man. I have that the cloak of reflection. Walked into the Beholder cavern with Minsc and my fighter/mage and just stood their wile 5 beholders shot spells at us. Got so many bounceing spells my PC slowed down, after they got done I actually had a charmed Beholder on my side. Then Minsc and I started cutting.
