Part ten of Hazardous Times.

The main party is to set out on an adventure, led by the Order of the Paladins to bring unjust men to trial for their actions on an innocent. Little do they know of the hidden dangers that await them. Neither do they know that a terrible evil may even be within their own ranks!

ooc> LOL at Galadria

Headed toward the gate he notices a rather large gruop gathering around the gate, with a quick scan he sense's a few familar signatures
mulling about. With a quick thought before anyone notices him his clothing changes back to travel gear, but the swirling emblems on his chest are still present.
"Well met gaurdsman, could you please direct me to your leader" he could easily sense who the man was, but since he has never met the man
an introduction would be in order. He smile's patiently as the gaurd looks at him wondering where he came from.

SIR BLANDAMOUR "Well-met, good sir. I am Sir Blandamour, Knight Banneret of the Order of the Radiant Heart. We are gathering to journey to the city that is as foul as it's name, Korup-Shun. We seek to investigate an attack on a friend that has left her bereft of her memories, and nearly dead outright. If you are a seeker of the true and the just, you may join with us to right this wrong."

OOC- *coughs* now, er, who would you be talking about? my character, or did someone else lose their memory too? and, uh, somehow I get the feeling that we aren't all at the same city... or is it just me? ^^; *tries not to become too overwhelmed, and is failing*

OOC>> Yes, Skye, Isaura is suffering from amnesia, also. Just walk up to one of the party and announce your intentions of joining us. I believe that you are talking at present to Addison and Ni Deng. IC>>
ELIZA (She finishes her meditations and decides that "Lady Eliza" is sufficiently grand. She shoots a dirty look at the elf, though.)

OOC>>> So... you're going to turn into a baddie, eh?

Okay, anyone who wants more action at Korrup Shun just make their way there, be it by sprinting, riding, crawling, flying, hopping, gliding :D

Those who want to opt out or break off into their own plots (eg Legolas), go ahead and do so. Just let the rest of us know, so we don't get confused (yeah, right  )

Oh, and as for the amulet... I gave up all rights to it the moment Sorsha left it at the temple. You can play around with it (turn a little evil or have nifty bonuses temporarily) if you like. The main thing is to have fun and not feel it a burden If you do... then dump it if you like! ;)

OOC>> Atalus grabs amulet from Addison, teleports to Orodruin, drops it into the Cracks of Doom. J/K, Cerek, keep it, doubtless we shall need it, what with the terrible evil concealed within our ranks. :D

OOC>>>It is not me that will be the inside evil, though I never said that it is certain that this will ever happen. I only have an iside scoop on what may occur. Y'all just chill!

ooc: Speaking of lurking dangers .... It's time for this lurker to settle into the villain's role. I must admit to being a bit nervous about jumping into a thread that has been so well-played over such a long period of time and I'll do my best to play up to the high standard that has been set.

Steeplewood Forest

The leaves in the shorter maples have just begun to shed their green color and there is a greater activity among the animals as they gather food for the coming winter. It is a cool and damp morning with a light fog filling the lower lying areas. Bending, Iphigenia places the earthen pitcher in the stream filling it with swift and cold water. She moves with a nimble grace to where Claudia and Miriam have prepared the basin and fills it with the water. As the first splashing sounds rise from the basin her companions softly chant the words of the incantation. The rustling movement of tree limbs in the slight breeze lends its notes to the chant and she sprinkles the crushed fragments of several oak leaves into the water. As the misty air over the basin grows clear she adds her own voice to the chant and gathers her strength – it is a great distance over which she must send her sight. Adding the feather of an eagle to the water she grows still as the others continue their chant. She then places a small scrap of cloth, a piece torn from the woman’s clothing, into the air above the basin allowing it to slowly drift downward into the water. Her eyes open wide but she sees nothing of this cool and misty grove.

She sees rather the dim interior of a tavern in a city beyond the thickly wooded hills which shield Korup Shun to the north. The woman is within and there are others with her. She marks each of them well but something about the young man who is with them troubles her. Concentrating, she focuses her attention upon him until she has a name - Raymond. “Ullalume,” she whispers and a pale woman steps quietly to her side. “The young man is called Raymond,” she says softly and steps aside allowing her companion to draw near to the basin.

Removing her glove, Ullalume places her hand within the water. She closes her eyes and breathes in sharply as her companions shift the tones of their chant. It is difficult to reach so far, but she can touch him. “Raymond,” she whispers. Her touch finds him, seeking out the movement of his life in time. She sees it then, the disruption within his recent past, a disruption so great it is easily found. He has been bitten and has become someone other than the one he had been. And there is more – there is something between him and the woman. Her breathing slows and she lingers with the violently clear images of the young man’s recent past. There is another with him! A female shapeshifter of no small power. She will take no chances with this news and withdraws her hand from the basin. Turning to her companions she speaks a low and placid voice, “There is much we will need to discuss.”

ooc: Possibly Raymond will feel something of Ullalume's strange touch, but it is very unlikely he would know its nature or origin.

Larry_OHF 06-04-2002 11:48 AM

Raymond

Raymond shivered as a chill wind seemed to linger in the air about him. It was an uncommon feeling, but he dismissed it as he heard Isaura speaking to someone. Her voice was enchanting. They had been alot closer than mere aquaintences before her "accident". That is why Raymond vowed to punish the ones that caused her amnesia. Hopefully, she would remember who he was one day, and the love that they had shared. Or maybe he will be able to rebuild it. The group of adventurers, led by Galadria's will and his to seek justice in behalf of one of thier own were making final preparations to travel. Who knew what unforeseen dangers lay ahead, but the ones that were rallying together had just fought and killed the infamous Bazguul'tek, the demon that had killed so many innocents in the search of ultimate power. Now, these same adventurers were restless and wanted more battle. They wanted more action and were willing to travel with the paladins in order to lend a hand and hopefully engage in more combat. Raymond was no longer alien to this thought process. After his run-in with a certain were-panther...he understood the desire to kill more than he used to.
