He knows that he has one chance (okay maybe more than one, maybe not even one, but who's really counting when it comes down to it, really?) He begins casting quietly, eyes closed, cursing himself for being drawn into the competition he cannot possible win. His guitar takes on a soft glow, and he feels it come alive in his hands. Thank god for the slide guitar, he says to himself and begins to play. He may not be a great warrior and he may not be the best mage, but there is one thing he can do, and that's play. The sounds from his guitar are at once soulful and sorrowful. Vibrant, yet morose. The song of his heart played out for all to hear. Without realizing it, he begins to sing. He sings of days gone by, of great deeds in a time of heroes, of love gained, love lost, of life and the innermost feelings of all. For most of the evening it goes until, he stops, exhausted.*
