Okay, I am thoroughly stumped. I read a previous message on this forum discussing how to get through the gate in the flame pit room. They said to carry a chest and run like hell and the gate would hit the chest and bounce back up. I have tried this hundreds of times. I step through the flame and get torched, then the gate opens briefly. I run forward, but right before I get to the gate, the gate just closes on the chest and does not bounce back up. So, I step back and leave the chest partially under the gate. Then I retry going into the flame and running forward but to no avail. Am I screwed??? Is there something wrong with my copy of the game??? Please Help!!!

Well, I used a crate, not a chest,if that makes a difference. I also ran thru the fire pit room. Started running outside the room, and just ran straight thru carrying the crate in front of me. Party got a little burned and the last person in the party got a little clobbered by the grate, but we made it all the way, STILL carrying the crate. Have you tried that?
