Our Crown Prince Willem Alexander has just married Mąxima Zorreguieta from Argentinia - just thought it would probably not be covered in foreign news as extensively as here

I thought it was a good ceremony - I quite liked the speech of the Mayor of Amsterdam, who wedded them, and the bride's dress was absolutely gorgeous - as was the bride herself, I must say

Went to watch the television for a bit - many distinguished guests...
Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit, Princess Victoria, Prince Charles, Queen Noor, Kofi Annan, Nelson Mandela, King Albert, many many more.
Normally I'm very non-gossipy and I'm DEFINITELY no royalty-watcher but wow - it's just strange to have this wedding here... it's quite an historical event as Willem Alexander will be King after his mother.

So thats the royal wedding they are showing in tv

We have two tv stations showing it live here for 4 hours or so.

So it is indeed covered outside Holland

I thought so, in Europe perhaps, for a few hours...
But I don't think most outside of Europe even knew

So what do you think of our Queen-to-be? ;) (actually she will remain a princess but still) I think she has a great smile, looks like a very warm personality

We got wind of a giant pre-marriage ceremony on the News... but thats about it AFAIK...

well, thats a cool thing about having a royalty i guess. Major events in their social lives (such as weddings) are news worthy events. where as our leaders are usually already married. and the only time their social lives show up on the news is when there is a scandal.

I don't think they're going to change that. Koninginnedag has been a holiday here for so long. And they didn't change the date when Bea became queen either.
