Sit and let the cdrom drive spin for half an hour while time advances...I don't think so...every RPG worth its salt has a rest option. It's a shame ole DW released a beta version as a final product, a la Microsoft with Windoze...but at least Windoze comes out with a patch at some point. Also the game is linearly anal...I completed the Crypt, Toad Village, Serpent Caves, Boogre Prison, Stout Mines, and then got all the way to the dragon in Dragonspire before I realized I needed the shroud from the castle ruins...no problem, right? Just go to the castle ruins and get it...NOT...unfortunately there is no way to exit Dragonspire at that point so I had to restart the game...it's just not worth it. I'm not even gonna take the time to talk about all the minor bugs; just gonna delete this beast from my hard drive and move on to Throne of Bhaal...too bad, this game had alot of potential if it wasn't so damn buggy and sloppily constructed.

Hi and welcome to the board.

I'm sorry your experience wasn't a pleasant one. I wish you many more hours of fun playing BGII.

BTW: you can always exit the Spire from where you came in.
