I wanna say it works from the most local IP address it can attribute to your location without having to attain special permission. It can nab your relative location, but chances are your street address and such are not known.

but then, anything is possible these days, so I could just be talking out my butt.

Well McAfee didnt warn me about it or anything, so its probally alright.

Yep, your IP says a lot about your location ;)
