... has gone gold!

With some of the people who did the original Fallout in Obsidian Studios, I have high hopes for this latest game in the FO series... :smilebounce:

I didn't like Fallout 3 at all, but I will probably check this one out once the price drops a bit.

I haven't read much but as long as it's not an Oblivion mod anymore, i'll be happy.

I've pre-ordered it, I just hope I can finish this one unlike its predecessor. For some reason, every time I installed it I'd have to tell myself "THIS is the time I'll complete it", but I'd either get distracted by something else or simply lose interest and end up uninstalling. Same thing happens with Oblivion.

Re: Fallout New Vegas...

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! Fallout is my all time number one game, Fallout 2 is an all-time classic (in the top ten), and I thoroughly enjoyed Fallout 3 (although not top ten).

New Vegas is a big step up from Fallout 3 - characters, writing, pacing, options, so so good. I'm trying to avoid reading any spoilers or info so I can get the full impact of everything, but I'm curious if anyone else had a full-on FALLOUT YEAH experience while playing this. I've got 20 hours into it (360 version, for now) and am just arriving to the strip -

SLIGHT SPOILER

I'm hoping that doing Cass' quest will let me take her along as a companion, she seems a lot like my favorite companion option from Fallout 2 - more than a coincidence??? Anyway, I have to get back to playing - I saw this thread hadn't been touched in a while and couldn't help myself.

Yeah. I definitely like it more than I did Fallout 3. And I played that one a lot. :)

How many companions can you have with you at any one time?

Re: Fallout New Vegas...

I think the limit is one human and one robot/animal companion. The human spot may also be used for a ghoul or super mutant companion, but I haven't found any yet.

Damn that girl and her mutt, several minutes into this game and I already miss Dogmeat. :(

Is it just me? Or does FNV feels too orangish (browish) for you?

Re: Fallout New Vegas...

I finally finished the game yesterday. Overall fantastic, although some of the end-game stuff was a little disappointing.

And in response to the above post, yes it is definitely orangish. I'm guessing that they wanted it to look sepia-toned, but if you have the game on PC I have seen a mod that changes it to more realistic coloring. I have the 360 version so I haven't tried it.
