I too am stuck on the three statues quest. Ive read the hints that tell me to put the gold on 7, silver on 10 and bronze on 3. Thats all good but my problem is that the numbers on the floor are 3, 6, 9 and 12 !!!! You see my problem here. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your thinking is right. Your finishing touch is worse. The 3,6,9 and 12 represent a clock. So the 3, 7 and 10 are somewhere on that clock, dump 'em there and the door will open.
